2007-M-062                Donald Albin Blom, petitioner, Appellant, vs. State of Minnesota, Respondent.

In 2000, following a trial at  Saint Louis County, a jury found Blom guilty of first-degree murder committed in the course of a kidnapping of Kathlyn “Katie” Poirier.  The Court denied his direct appeal, his first post-conviction petition, and his second post-conviction appeal.

On Blom’s next post-conviction appeal, the Court held that Blom was making claims that he had not raised or could have raised in his earlier appeals, and thus, they were barred by the rule of Knaffla.
